Aunt Ida May Parker was Ervin's maternal aunt.  Ervin went to live with Aunt Ida and her husband, Willis (Uncle Will) Parker when he was four years old.  He was raised in Lisbon, New Hampshire.

Frost, Robert.  I believe that this was the brother of Ervin's stepfather.  He was born in Scotland but resided in Montpelier when he enlisted on January 17, 1918 at the age of 34.  He was sent to Ft. Slocum.  He served as part of the Med. Dept. at Stuart, VA.

Ma.  Adaline (Addie) Miles Wakefield Frost was Ervin's mother.  After she and Ervin's father divorced, she married Andrew Frost.

Ida May Wakefield was Ervin's older sister by eleven years (b. about 1879).  In the 1910 U.S. Federal Census she is listed as 29 years old, and a servant (checker in a hotel) in Manhattan Ward 3, New York.  According to the 1920 U.S. Federal Census, she is 39 years, and is living with her mother and stepfather, Addie and Andrew Frost, in Fair Haven, VT.  She worked as a clerk.  Her nephews, Carrol E. and Robert E. (sons of Carroll E. Wakefield) are toddlers and are also living with the Frosts in 1920.

Ida May's obituary.

Martha Billings Wakefield was Ervin’s younger sister by two years (b. May 3, 1892).   At the age of 17 she is listed as a roomer along with her father in Hardwick, VT, in the 1910 U. S. Federal Census. She would have been 24 or 25 years old at the writing of Ervin's letters.  Future letters and census reports give clues that Martha worked in Manhattan, in a hotel, as a checker during this time. In the 1920 Federal Census, Martha is 27 years old, living alone as a boarder in Middletown Springs, VT, and is listed as a teacher of primary school.  She married Henry F. Gray at about the age of 38.  She died in Rutland, VT on January 13, 1966 of arteriosclertotic heart disease at the age of  74.

Uncle Will (Willis) M. Parker raised Ervin with his wife.  (See Aunt Ida) I think he was the postmaster for the town of Wolcott in Lamoille Co., VT listed in the Gazetter and Business Directory of Lamoille and Orleans County, VT for 1883-84 by Hamilton Child.  He later worked in real estate.

Mack, Arthur J.  Born and lived in Montpelier, VT.  Enlisted on December 15, 1917 and entered Fort Slocum.  Went overseas Sept. 29, 1919 - May 16, 1919.  Discharged May 29, 1919.

Tobias, Bernard J.  I believe that this is the brother of Charlie Tobias, both of whom were born in Montreal, Canada and resided in Montpelier, VT.

White.  I believe that this is Laverne Harold White who resided at Hardwick when he enlisted on June 12, 1918 at Burlington.  He was stationed at the Naval Training Camp of Pelham Bay Port, NY until Sept. 17, 1918.
